""It's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything... but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life." -American Beauty

My life is officially boring.
So I was going to write about what I did thus far on my day... nothing.
I woke up, ate some amazing cinnamon rolls, fed a cinnamon roll to my cat, cat sneezed and started having an allergy attack, drank coffee, almost spilled coffee on my precious laptop, saw a bird, bird flew away, participated in the To Write Love on Her Arms Day yesterday, wrote love on my arm, woke up with an itchy arm, I think I have ink poisoning, sat on my bed, fell asleep, woke up an hour later, started freaking out because I overslept, did some school work, threw my stuffed beanie duck against the wall, duck exploded, I had to pick up all the beanie things, wrote on my blog, realized I am truly a strange person, called for psychiatric help, they laughed at me ( not really ).

ah... love...
A few days ago I found out that a certain crush of mine liked someone else. The first words I hear after I found this out are “ Are you okay?!?!?” Of course I'm okay. I'm not going to give my all to one person. Here's my views on love and stuff like that in general.
1. God Has the Right Person Picked Out for You
God has the right person picked out for you. I think that the reason people are resistant to this idea is because they fail to see that God is all powerful. I know its hard to be patient... trust me... I know, but we need to trust in God.
“ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
That verse doesn't say trust in the Lord with “SOME” of your heart or “lean not on your own understanding unless you think its better than what God has in store”. Let me repeat what that verse says again
“ Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean NOT on your OWN UNDERSTANDING” Proverbs 3:5
For me this verse seems IMPOSSIBLE to do. My understanding has been the only way I've known. The human kind is more comfortable with their own sense of direction that they cannot just let God take it from here. Everyone wants that feeling of love. The whole holding hands, and snuggling on the couch. Sometimes we even make ourselves believe that we love someone. We create a "false statement of love". Its hard to tell ourselves that God has the right person.
We need to stop and think about what love really means. We use that term WAY TO LOOSELY!
Love:
1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3. affection or concern for another person
4. the benevolent affection of God for His creatures, or the reverent affection due from them to God.
I always have to stop and tell myself “ whoa! wait Kayla.. you just told that person you loved them. Sure you might be really good friends with them but do you HONESTLY love them!”.
I honestly do love most of my friends, but still we use that term very loosely. Do you honestly feel a “personal attachment” to that person?
2. God's Love vs. Our Love
“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.” John 3:16-18
The last part of this verse is what stands out to me the most. “ Let us not love in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth”. This means that our love shouldn't just be words. Our love needs to be honest and true. We love based on feelings and emotions that change from one moment to the next. Deny it? It's true. You may think “ OMG I <3 my bf/gf ” well of course you do, but are emotions still change from one moment to the next. What if you “ bf or gf” is caught cheating on you... “WOAH HO HO Kayla. DONT SAY THAT?!?!” Well I'm just saying. If that happens you aren't going to feel the love for that person that you once felt. God's love isn't like that. God's love is unconditional.
The definition of Unconditional is:
1. not limited by condition; absolute
God's love has no limits. He always loves us no matter what.
